St. Mary's Visitation Students head to the Spelling Bee District Meet

St. Mary's Visitation Spelling Bee

Congratulations to our 5th-8th grade finalists in the St. Mary's Visitation Spelling Bee on Monday, December 10th. 8th grader Elizabeth Janowski won for the 4th year in a row. 7th grader Jesse Bopp was runner-up.

Last year, Elizabeth also captured the CESA 1 District Spelling championship and took third place in the southeastern Wisconsin regional competition.

Elizabeth and Jesse will be representing SMV at the district meet at Catholic Memorial High School next month.

5th Grade Advent Angels

SMV's elderly parishioners will soon be receiving Christmas gift bags stocked with all kinds of goodies, thanks to the 5th grade Angel Tree project. Thanks to all school families for your contribution of small gift items.  The 5th graders spearheaded the collection, decorated and assembled the bags, and junior high service club elves will deliver.
Thank you Mrs. Wilinski and Grade 5!
Brownies decorate a Christmas Tree at Milwaukee County Zoo
SMV's 3rd Grade Brownie Troop 4398 decorated a Christmas tree with handmade ornaments as part of the Milwaukee County Zoo Trim A Tree program. Look for our SMV Brownie troop's Christmas tree in the US Bank building at the Zoo entrance. Nice job, SMV Brownies!
5th Grade Webelo Scouts decorate a Christmas Tree at the Milwaukee County Zoo

The SMV Christmas Concert was a big hit on December 11th.  It was a full house in the St. Mary's Visitation gym as the students took the stage dressed in their best Christmas outfits to sing Christmas carols to our families.  Well done!!

A Visit from the Meteorologist
St. Mary's Visitation 6th graders had an in-depth lesson in meteorology from Fox 6 Meteorologist Justin Zollitsch this month. He spoke for two class periods explaining weather and fielding student questions -- a great addition to their lesson on temperature and wind.
