Name That Puppy!

HAWS, puppies, Valentine's Day, Champagne, name, socialization, adopt, Bunny, Walkathon, makeover

HAWS welcomed 15 new members to our "family" on Valentine's Day, when pregnant mom Champagne gave birth to her litter of puppies.

Currently in foster care, Champagne and her brood are not only being carefully monitored as they grow, but are also working on early-stage development with our Behavior Department!  You can follow their progress by reading their blog - updated daily because so much happens in such a short time with puppies...

They've already reached a critical stage:  it is time for socialization.  One key need for this work?  Names!

So it is time to "Play the Name Game" and we're asking for our community to participate and have a little fun along the way.  For a $50 donation - which is being used for the puppies care - you can choose one of the 15 puppies and give it a name.  These names will be used while volunteers work with the pups...and who knows:  the future adopter may just keep your name of choice!  (Hint, hint:  make it a good one!)

All the details can be found at the Valentine's Puppies' blog, and the link to make your naming donation is on our main HAWS' website.  Oh, and it looks like there are only 14 left to name now...hurry so you don't miss out!

By the way - we take the phrase "Spring into action" literally at HAWS, with these awesome upcoming events!  March 19th is HAWS' Annual Bunny Day, 3/25 is Extreme Makeover:  HAWS Edition, also on 3/25 our Mobile Adoption Center will be at the Admirals' Game for Dog Day...
and our 29th Annual Pet Walkathon is set for May 5th.  (You can get started now - let your fingers to the fundraising with an online page...)
