Chenequa - The wife of former professional football player Joe Panos told police that he threatened to kill her and damaged a friend's vehicle with golf clubs, according to a police report.
Panos, 38, was arrested at his home last weekend on suspicion of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Prosecutors are reviewing the matter and have not issued any charges.
Panos, a Brookfield native and a member of the University of Wisconsin's 1994 Rose Bowl championship team, later played seven seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. He is now part-owner of the Milwaukee Iron, an Arena Football League franchise.
Waukesha County court records show that Panos' wife, Michelle, filed for divorce in November.
According to the police report, Michelle Panos was home with a friend Saturday night when her husband arrived and used golf clubs to damage the friend's vehicle.
The friend told police he had been dating Michelle Panos for five months.
