An 87-year-old woman was killed and another 87-year-old woman was injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the City of Brookfield, according to the city's police department.

Neither woman's identity has been released.

According to a news release from the department:

The crash occurred about 10:20 a.m. at W. Capitol Drive and Beaufort Drive.

The woman who was killed was driving a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera south on Beaufort. She was crossing Capitol Drive's westbound lanes to turn left onto eastbound Capitol Drive when her vehicle was struck by a westbound 1998 Cadillac DeVille.

The Ciera's driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The DeVille's driver suffered chest pain from the crash and was taken to Elmbrook Memorial Hospital.

Police do not believe alcohol or weather was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
