Kathryn Collins Hattery and Brian James Groskopf of Oconomowoc were married Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Mathew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Parents of the bride are Michael Hattery and Ann Collins-Hattery of Cedar Rapids. The groom's parents are John and Sue Groskopf of Elm Grove.

The Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiated the 1:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Cedar Rapids Country Club.

The bride wore a strapless gown with buttons down the back and an accordion pleated train. She carried a bouquet of various white flowers.

Elizabeth Hattery of Chicago, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Pace of Iowa City, Iowa, Leanna Wisnefske of Madison, Colleen Everett of Newark, N.J., Stephanie Michalicek of Cedar Rapids, and Morgan Van Horn of Atlanta, Ga.

Eric Groskopf of Elm Grove, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Groskopf and David Groskopf of Elm Grove, Jim Matthias of Tallahassee, Fla., Mark Pronley of Wauwatosa, and Bryan Rowe of Elm Grove.

The bride earned her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a human resources specialist with the state Department of Health Services in Madison.

The groom earned his bachelor's degree in actuarial science from UW-Madison. He is an assistant actuary with Assurant Health in Milwaukee.

The couple planned a one-week honeymoon touring Venice and Rome followed by a weeklong Mediterranean cruise.

The two met in Madison in spring 2007 and were engaged June 17, 2011, after a long-distance relationship - the groom moved to Milwaukee after graduating in May of 2007, and the bride stayed in Madison to finish her studies and then work. They continue to work in different cities, living half way between.
