Tammy Mcgaw and Karen Rama, both of Brookfield, are 2009 graduates of Western Technical College.

Matthew Elson graduated in May from Rhode Island School of Design with a graduate degree in architecture. He will be employed in Glen Rock, N.J., as a junior architect with Studio Five Partnership. He is the son of Mark and Mary Lou Elson of Brookfield, and a Brookfield Central High School graduate.

Kaitlin Wollak of Elm Grove and Christina Gartner of Brookfield have each received an $800 Waukesha County Medical Society Scholarship from the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation. Both students excelled academically at Brookfield East High School and now attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

SamuelHarms of Elm Grove received the Spring 2009 Lowell R. Laudon Outstanding Junior Scholarship from the Geology & Geophysics Department. He received $1,000 for his high grades.

JuliaRitchie of Brookfield received a grant from the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Program for Continuing Education. The grant is awarded to help students whose educational goals have been interrupted to continue to work toward a certificate or a degree in their chosen field. Ritchie will receive her master's degree in business management from Cardinal Stritch University in May 2010. Julia was sponsored for this grant by P.E.O. Chapter BZ of Brookfield.

Ryan S. Jung, a 2009 Brookfield Central graduate, received a scholarship from the Wisconsin Chapter of the Metals Service Center Institute and also was awarded a Russel Metals Inc. Scholarship, administered by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. He is the son of David and Mary Jo Jung.
