Alexis Rhoda and Christopher Lackey of Greensboro, N.C., were married April 30, 2011, at Community United Methodist Church in Elm Grove.
Parents of the bride are Thomas and Debra Rhoda of Brookfield. The groom's parents are Dan and Nancy Lackey of Asheboro, N.C.
The Rev. Janet Hartzell officiated the 2:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Westmoor Country Club in Brookfield.
The bride's bouquet consisted of white roses, white peonies, stephanotis with crystals, gardenias, white and black anemones, and pink cymbidium orchids, all wrapped in her late-grandfather's handkerchief. She wore a white, sweetheart-cut dress with side ruching. Crystals and beading embellished the bodice, flowed down the left side and highlighted the train. A cathedral-length veil accompanied the dress.
Nicole Wolf of Pewaukee, best friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy (Rhoda) Olvey of Appleton, Rebecca Rhoda Fisher of Arden Hills, Minn., and Sara Riney of Charlotte, N.C. Niece Emily Olvey of Appleton was flower girl.
Chaz Riney of Charlotte, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Scott Olvey of Appleton, Ronald Fisher of Arden Hills, and Andrew Miller of Milwaukee. Nephews Ben Olvey of Appleton and Charlie Riney of Charlotte were ring bearers.
The bride earned bachelor's degree in law studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006 and her doctorate in law from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 2009. She is an attorney in North Carolina and Wisconsin.
The groom earned his bachelor's degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2000. He is the executive manager at Asheboro Nissan, Asheboro Honda, Asheboro Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, and Asheboro Mazda.
The couple planned a two-week honeymoon in Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii, and Scottsdale, Ariz.
The two met in April 2009, and their first date was at a local restaurant in Wauwatosa. They were engaged Thanksgiving of 2009.
