Tonawanda blood drive scheduled for March 7

Tonawanda Elementary School, 13605 Underwood River Parkway, will hold its annual blood drive in remembrance of Andrea Steen-Crawford from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 7.

Chili and home-baked cookies will be served. Childcare will be provided.

Each person who comes to the school to donate can enter a random drawing for a $50 gift certificate to the Capital Grille in downtown Milwaukee.

Since 1998, Tonawanda has collected 339 units of blood for the Blood Center of Wisconsin through the annual drive.

Elmbrook foundation plans winter social March 12

The Elmbrook Education Foundation will hold its annual winter social from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 12 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Drive.

Admission is $45 per person. Advanced registration runs through March 7.

The social is open to parents, alumni, community members and Elmbrook staff members and will feature live music, casino games, a jewelry dig, raffles, food and refreshments.

Brookfield El presents 'Aladdin, Jr.' on March 5, 6

The Brookfield Elementary Players will presents Disney's "Aladdin, Jr." on March 5 and March 6 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Drive.

Tickets for lower-level seats cost $10 for adults and $5 for children; balcony seats cost $7 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets are available through the Wilson Center box office by calling (262) 781-9520 or going online at

Hillside Hawk Walk/Run scheduled for May 29

The fourth annual Hillside Hawk Walk/Run will take place May 29 at Mitchell Park, 19900 River Road, Brookfield.

The professionally timed run is 3.1 miles, and the walk is 2.5 miles.

Registration is $12 per individual or $45 per family of five or more. After May 1, registration is $15 per individual or $50 per family. All participants will receive a Hawk Walk/Run T-shirt and coupons to local businesses. The event also features live entertainment, children's activities, door prizes and a mascot race.

Last year's event raised $8,500 for Hillside.

Brookfield Academy students to perform 'The Music Man'

More than 60 Brookfield Academy players will perform "The Music Man" on March 5 and March 6 at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center, N6151 Town Line Road, Sussex.

Shows will be at 2 and 6:30 p.m. both days.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 55 and older and Brookfield Academy teachers, and $5 for students. Tickets cost $10 per person for groups of eight or more.
