Education foundation seeking nominees for board

The Elmbrook Education Foundation is seeking individuals to serve on its board of directors.

Eligible individuals include residents of the Elmbrook district, graduates of any Elmbrook school, non-resident parents of students in the district and current or retired Elmbrook staff members. The board is looking for people with expertise in the areas of alumni and retiree outreach, large-event planning, endowment campaigns and accounting.

The EEF Board of Directors comprises 12 to 18 community members with staggered terms. Accepted nominations are offered a term of one to three years. Board members are expected to attend one meeting a month, support foundation programs and events, and fill a leadership role on at least one committee.

Summer camp registration starts May 7 in Brookfield

Online and mail-in registration for the city of Brookfield's summer camps begins May 7.

Summer camps are open to all city and Elmbrook School District residents. Non-residents may register for a camp one week prior to the camp start date if openings are available.

Activities at these camps will include swimming, crafts, nature activities, sports and games. Camps are offered throughout the summer, beginning on June 13 and running through Aug. 12.

Online registration is open to city and school district residents. To register online, each family must complete a Household Information Form and submit it to the recreation department by mail or fax. The submitter will receive an email containing a user name and password that will allow them to enter the online registration section of the city website,

Also, a downloadable registration form is available on the city website.

Mail-in registrations are processed the day they are received.

Kindergarten orientation day is May 6 in Elmbrook schools

On May 6, all Elmbrook School District elementary schools will hold an orientation for children who have registered for kindergarten in fall.

Information about the orientations has been sent home to all registered families and is available on each school's website homepage, which can be accessed from

Families with children who will be 5 on or before Sept. 1 may register for kindergarten by contacting their area elementary school.
