Police Report: April 8

City of Brookfield


1Plastic straws, coffee filters and bath salts were taken from a home in the 900 block of South Sunny Slope Road between 8 p.m. March 28 and 8:30 a.m. March 29. The key pad on the garage door was used to unlock the home. The resident was not home at the time; the perpetrator(s) left when a neighbor arrived to check on the cats.

2Cash and camera equipment were taken from Black Dog Studios, 17700 W. Capitol Drive, between 8:45 and 9 a.m. March 31. The building was entered through the back door. Loss is estimated at $9,700. Three teenage males were seen running from the area at the time.

3A 21-year-old man was arrested for burglary in the 3200 block of Jerri Court about 7 p.m. March 31 after he was seen inside the house. Police found him in possession of burglary tools related to the incident March 31, as well as a previous burglary. He was released to the custody of his mother.

4Sharon's Wig Salon, 13723 W. Capitol Drive, was broken into between March 31 and April 1. An interior door had been pried open and $15 was missing from a cash drawer.


5A debit card and $220 were taken from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 13900 block of Adelaide Lane between 1 p.m. March 31 and 7:30 a.m. April 1.

6An e-reader was taken from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 2400 block of Lilly Road between 3:30 p.m. March 31 and 1 p.m. April 1.

7A phone and wallet were taken from an unlocked car at Xperience Fitness, 12575 W. Capitol Drive, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. April 1.

8A woman was arrested for theft by virtue of employment at Target, 12725 W. Bluemound Road, about 2:30 p.m. April 2.

9A woman took three bottles of alcohol from Pick 'n Save, 17295 W. Capitol Drive, about 2:30 p.m. April 3.

10A gray 1993 GMC Sierra pickup truck with "B&B Services" written on it was taken from B&B Services, 12500 W. Wirth St., between 4:30 p.m. April 5 and 1:15 p.m. April 6. Someone had smashed a passenger-side window to gain entry. The truck had a plow on the front and a trailer on the back.


11A lock was broken on a car at REI, 13100 W. Capitol Drive, between 3:50 and 4:50 p.m. March 5. It didn't appear anything was missing.

12A Brookfield resident brought his 10-year-old son's iPod into the Brookfield Police Department, 2100 N. Calhoun Road, about 9 p.m. April 1 to show police "inappropriate" things on it. He said his son conducted online searches for sexual terms after receiving the "sex talk," and received notification that someone wanted to "sex chat." He was advised on how to clear the invitation.

13Police were called about noon April 2 about a black man leaving Pick 'n Save, 15170 W. Greenfield Ave. The caller thought the man looked suspicious because people were watching him leave the store and instead of walking down Greenfield Avenue, he walked through the neighborhood. Although the police report noted Pick 'n Save had "no reason" to make contact with the man, it continued to say the man was found to have only personal belongings in his pockets and was walking back to Milwaukee.

· A Brookfield resident told police about 12:30 p.m. April 2 that her teenage daughter was being harassed on Ask FM, a site where users can ask each other questions anonymously, but answers are public on their profiles. The mother said someone had written distasteful comments about her daughter, including profanities and suggestions that she kill herself.

14Police were called on parents who left their 1-year-old sleeping child in the car while they ran into Metro Market, 17630 W. Bluemound Road, about 1:30 p.m. April 2. They were advised not to leave a child in the car.

15A man said another man bit his hand after an argument at the bar at Brookfield Suites, 1200 S. Moorland Road, about 10:15 p.m. April 5.

16An 18-year-old man said someone smeared ranch dressing on his new car in the Brookfield Central High School parking lot, 16900 Gebhardt Road, before 2 a.m. April 6. Five other vehicles in the lot had been egged.

17An iPhone was taken from Chuck E. Cheese's, 19125 W. Bluemound Road, between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. April 2. The owner pinged the phone to an address in Milwaukee, called the phone and asked the people who answered to meet her to return it, but they did not show up and turned the phone off.


18A Delafield man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Interstate 94 at Springdale Road about 3:10 a.m. March 29 after he was pulled over for driving 62 miles per hour.

19A Waukesha man was arrested for drunken driving at Bluemound Road and Moreland Boulevard about 4 a.m. April 4 after an officer saw him go through a red light. The man told the officer he was having a bad day because he had tried to "pick up a lady" and she had taken his money. His BAC was 0.14.


20Someone used four counterfeit $100 bills to purchase an amplifier from two people outside Motel 6, 20300 W. Bluemound Road, about 12:30 a.m. April 2.

Village of Elm Grove


21An employee at Elm Grove Liquor was arrested for drunken driving and a hit and run at Bishops Way and Bluemound Road about 5:15 p.m. March 31. His BAC was 0.17.


22A woman who said she arrived on a satellite approached a cashier at Walgreens, 15360 Watertown Plank Road, and waved a screw driver about 3:30 p.m. April 1. She did not threaten anyone with the screw driver, but stated, "You look nice, but I just don't know." She then said she was leaving on her satellite.

23A woman with a warrant out for her arrest accidentally dialed 911 from the 500 block of Elm Grove Road about 3:30 p.m. April 4. Police responded to the call, noticed the warrant, and arrested her.
