City of Brookfield


1A "for sale" sign with attached posts was taken from a yard in the 18700 block of Hoffman Avenue before 11:31 a.m. Sept. 25. Loss is estimated at $35.

2Fifteen push-up bras were taken at Victoria's Secret at Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, at 2:39 p.m. Sept. 25. Loss is estimated at $830. According to store personnel, two women were involved in the incident. One distracted an employee while the other was placing the bras in a large purse. When an alarm was activated, the women fled the store. Surveillance footage is being reviewed.

3Construction equipment valued at $30,000 was taken from behind the Ashley Furniture building, 16220 W. Bluemound Road, before 8:47 a.m. Sept. 26.

4A purse containing a wallet, checks and credit cards was taken from a vehicle at Mitchell Park, 19900 River Road, before 2:33 p.m. Sept. 27. A window was smashed to gain entry.

5A 38-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking a pair of jeans at The Buckle at Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, at 12:44 p.m. Sept. 28.

6Numerous apples were taken off a tree in a yard in the 4200 block of North 162nd Street before noon Oct. 1.

7A 41-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for taking five bottles of alcohol at Fresh Market, 15895 W. Bluemound Road, at 1:56 p.m. Oct. 1. The man also was arrested for fleeing police.


8A 70-year-old Brookfield woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 4000 block of North 128th Street before 12:02 p.m. Sept. 28. A blood draw was taken to determine the woman's blood-alcohol content.

9A 58-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving near Bluemound and Elm Grove roads at 9:44 p.m. Sept. 30. A blood draw was taken to determine the man's BAC. This was his third offense.


10A mailbox was knocked off its post in the 1400 block of Independence Drive before 8:19 a.m. Sept. 27.

11A mailbox and post were struck and destroyed in the 3000 block of Nassau Drive before 1:23 p.m. Sept. 30.


Police made three arrests related to domestic violence incidents last week.

Town of Brookfield


12Two Milwaukee women, ages 30 and 54, were arrested for taking merchandise over an extended period of time at Kmart, 18200 W. Bluemound Road, at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 7. The 30-year-old was an employee, while the 54-year-old had resigned from the business.

13A purse containing a wallet, identification cards, cash and a camera was taken at Salto Gymnastics Club, 21950 Doral Road, before 2:12 p.m. Sept. 23. Loss is estimated at $560.


14Police responded to a report of a 39-year-old Milwaukee man striking a customer in the face at Mega Media Exchange, 19555 W. Bluemound Road, at 6:40 p.m. Sept. 28. The man is autistic and a member of a group home. He had been authorized to leave the facility for a few hours while in the care of another person. Police initially put the man in restraints, but he was quickly released without incident.


15A 19-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for putting in numerous false pizza delivery orders at Pizza Hut, 17800 W. Bluemound Road, at 4:23 p.m. Sept. 25. Over a period of several months, the eatery prepared $373 worth of pizzas based on the man's false calls. He is a former employee of the store, and was terminated about a year ago.

No reportable incidents occurred last week.
