Fall lacrosse program set at Pilgrim Park

A fall after-school lacrosse program is set for Thursdays from Sept. 17 through Oct. 18 at Pilgrim Park Middle School.

The program is for boys from third through eighth grades from 4-5:30 p.m. Players need to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.

Equipment is available for rental. Required gear includes a helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, mouth guard and stick (cup is recommended). Contact Hot4Lax Lacrosse at (262) 717-9996 before the first day to make arrangements for rental. Players should be fitted for equipment at the Hot4Lax Lacrosse Center before start of the session.

The cost is $85, if registered before session. On site fee is an additional $15. Fee includes tank top. Discounted rental fee is $35. Rental does not include stick. Starter sticks are available for purchase on the first day or at the store. Separate deposit check is required for all rentals. Checks made payable to Hot4Lax. Online registration is at

Former East kicker named UAA co-Player of Week

Three Washington University student-athletes received University Athletic Association UAA Athlete of the Week Honors.

Sophomores Chris Haeberle of Elm Grove and Brookfield East earned UAA Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week honors after scoring a goal in each of the Bears' two wins over the weekend.

Central's Johnson on Warhawks football team

Former Brookfield Central linemen Ryan "Rocky" Johnson is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's football team.

The Warhawks are the defending NCAA Division III national champions and had compiled a 46-game winning streak.

RAP holding Fall Academy at West Allis Central

The Basketball RAP will be holding its 2012 Fall Academy at West Allis Central High School this month.

The academy will run Monday and Thursday nights from Sept. 24-Nov. 1. Times are 8-9 p.m. or 9-10 p.m.

Wisconsin RAP Basketball sets Oct. 6 tryouts

The Wisconsin RAP 2013 Club Basketball Tryouts for fifth- to 10th-grade girls and fifth- to 11th-grade boys have been scheduled for Oct. 6.
