NEWS AND NOTES

Meeting notes: Our guest this week was Claire Kohlmeyer, district executive of the Iron Horse District, who came with Bob Gross. We didn't have a program, but President Ed reviewed committee activities and discussed fund raising possibilities. Happy dollars came in from Kevin Sjostrom, celebrating 30 years as a Kiwanian; Tom Anstett, who had a new banner patch for our recent contribution to the Kiwanis International Foundation and a thank you letter from scholarship recipient Keegan Fox who is now attending UW Whitewater; from Ed Ellingson, happy to be leaving town to help his Bostonian son with his house; Eli Potkonjak, who got to see his daughter compete and come in second place in her pole vault event; Gary Knisbeck, who was laughing about the news coverage of the events in Madison; Bob Reinhardt, who was very happy that Bill's Power center had the part in stock for Bob's 1983 Toro snow blower; from Bob Gross, who is looking forward to Mini Business World; from John Foley, who is expecting another grandchild at the end of the week; and from Doc Nordholm, who was laughing about the snow blower that climbed upon the dog's leash onto the garage.

Triplet celebration: We hope to see both Taylor and Lydia Poehls next week. You are encouraged to bring a baby gift. We are also putting together a pot of cash to buy a nice, practical gift card. Suggested contribution is $20. If you couldn't make it this week but you want to contribute, you should e-mail or call Ed (ed.ellingson@zerrecon or 414-475-6533) and give him your electronic or oral IOU. Ed plans to buy the gift card Tuesday morning. Everyone other than Taylor is getting this note in the bulletin.

Reports on members: Carl Smith let us know that Warren Carity has pneumonia, but he would appreciate cards and calls. Gary Krueger is managing to take Roberta out with a van, so they get to see the grandchildren. Former member Dave Sayas is going through chemotherapy.

Pancakes: We will hear details from Ken Snyder next week. Eli wants you tickets money now, if not sooner. Ken is still looking for $5 to $10 door prize items. Tom Anstett needs placemat advertising orders no later than March 1.

Interclub: Tom Schultz reported on last week's successful interclub with Brookfield, and he announced a planned visit to the West Bend club's Germanfest on March 29 at 7 PM.
