Dixon Elementary reaches out to University of Madison to dazzle students about Physics.

Brookfield, WI - March 18, 2013 - Dixon PTO reaches out to UW-Madison to fulfilled demand for a science based program for elementary school students.

On March 19th students at Dixon Elementary, at the Elmbrook School District, will have a chance to experience the amazing world of physics through a traveling show organized by the Physics Department at UW-Madison.

UW-Madison created this program in 1984 with a goal of generating interest in physics among people of all ages. Since then, it has captivated young minds with a fast paced, highly entertaining presentation.

In a time when many families are scrambling to find extra hours in a day, this partnership between a renowned higher education institution, such as UW-Madison, and an elementary school seems to be the sensible solution to give young children the exposure needed to high quality science programs without burdening overcommitted parents.

The initiative, sponsored by the Dixon PTO and supported by school administration, has the mission of creating an atmosphere of curiosity around science, making it fun and entertaining, so children can continue to develop inquisitive minds about the world around them. This mission aligns with the national call for more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) based programming to foster a love of science in our youngest students.

This is the first time this show comes to the Elmbrook School District. All students will have a chance to see the presentation during a school assembly at 1pm. In addition families can enjoy an evening presentation scheduled for 6pm at the school gymnasium.

Dixon Elementary is located at 2400 Pilgrim Square Drive, Brookfield.
