The Elm Grove Woman's Club is excited to announce its Annual Grove Art Festival, April 30 through May 2nd at our clubhouse, located at 13885 Watertown Plank Rd.
This fundraising event is a wonderful juried art festival which includes: 35 Wisconsin artists, several have won awards around the country, many exhibited in major cities; types: oils, acrylics, watercolors, pottery, jewelry, abstracts, wearables (leather, silks, alpaca, wovens), sculptures, photography, mixed media; local Elm Grove artist-Tom Buchs, does beautiful oils on canvas; an Oneida Indian, member of theTurtle Clan, Dawn DarkMountain who does gorgeous intricate woodland watercolors (several incorporated with the turtle as a result of the Clan) see inset photo.
We will be having a live demonstration from one of the artists; artisan chocolates from Niemann's in Wauwatosa; henna tattooing (dating back to the Bronze Age)--latest rage for temporary tats for teens to grandparents; cookbook author, Linda Mutschler (Fast Track to Fine Dining),sampling from her book.
The festival also features our Club Cafe serving lunches on both days; bake sale on Saturday; hanging flower baskets for sale; admission: $4.00
Highlight Friday's Preview Night : admission $10/person or $15 for two; 6-8pm; patrons may browse/buy leisurely while enjoying complimentary wine & cheese; reservations may be made by calling 262-782-8297.
